Mushroom Identification Workshop
Sunday, May 15th, 1:00 – 3:00 PM
North Park Village Nature Center
with Patrick Leacock
This first workshop of 2016 is made of two parts. The first part will be a review of last year’s workshops including mushroom documentation: mapping your location; collecting and describing; and tree identification. The second part will look in detail at the visible features of mushrooms, such as for the caps, gills, and stems. These features are used to key out and identify wild mushrooms. We will combine these features to learn the “stature types” of gilled mushrooms, such as amanita, pluteus, tricholoma, mycena, etc.
This event is free to members and their guests. For further information, contact Patrick at MycoGuide@gmail.com

North Park Village Nature Center is located just off the Edens Expressway (I-94). You will exit at Peterson and travel east to Pulaski. Go south (right) on Pulaski a short ways until you reach the North Park Village complex which will be on the east (left) side of the street. Once you have entered the complex, follow the signs, bearing left. You will come to a group of buildings surrounding parking lots on the right. The Nature Center is on the left (North) as you enter. It is a small building, with a small sign and prairie garden in front.
